James Edward "Buddy" Scott, Jr., 61, of Osceola, passed away at 10:48 am, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in his home. Buddy was born on January 21, 1953, the son of the late James E. and Alice M. (Ellsworth) Scott. Buddy is survived by his companion of over 20 years, Barbara Keller of Osceola; two children, James E. (Ellen) Scott, III of Edwardsburg, MI and Joni (Eric) Lochtefeld of Middletown, OH; seven grandchildren, Brandon Scott, Austin Lochtefeld, Storm Scott, Reece Tumbleson, Abegail Scott, Justin Scott, and Ethan Scott. He is also survived by eight siblings, Lulabelle Williams of Mishawaka, Terry (Towana) Scott of Orinda, TN, Sue Scott of Mishawaka, Connie Scott of Niles, MI, Ronnie Scott of Mira Loma, CA, Sammy (Colette) Scott of Niles, MI, Douglas (Stacie) Scott of LaGrange, IN and Chuck Scott of Mishawaka. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randy Scott. Buddy was an avid gardener and spent the past two years following and documenting the family genealogy. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be missed by all. There will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola is handling arrangements.
