OSCEOLA- James Gaugler, 59 passed away at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis on Wednesday due to complications from heart surgery. James was born to James and Joyce (Speckman) Gaugler in Abilene, TX. He was a Penn High graduate with the class of 1975. James was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service until his retirement in 2011. He loved fishing and spending time with his high school buddies. He also bowled on a league in Osceola. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. James was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2083 in Mishawaka. He loved to make everyone laugh and was a social butterfly that enjoyed socializing wherever he went. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his 2 daughters and granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Gaugler. James is survived by his mother, Joyce Ann; daughter Ashley Chaney and fianc Edward Palyo; daughter Kimberly Gaugler and fianc Jonathan Heiney; two granddaughters Mackenzie and Emerie; one brother, Jeff (Trish) Gaugler; one sister, Tammy Waller and his niece and nephews: Blake (Tori) Gaugler, Stephanie Gaugler, Drew Gaugler and fianc Ashton, Justin Waller and fianc Wendy, and Austin Clardy as well as his five great nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends and family will be Thursday, April 21 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with a funeral on Friday, April 22 at 10:00 am with Reverend Bob Vale officiating. The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the family to help with James'' medical expenses.
