James Louis Gring, age 79, of Mishawaka, passed away at Hospice House in South Bend on September 5, 2012. Jim was born December 10, 1932 in South Bend to the late Gale and Dora (Burtzlaff) Gring.
Jim graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1951, and was employed for over 44 years as a machinist at the Bendix Corporation, retiring at age 63. He also served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. In his free time, he enjoyed working on computers, and spending time online.
Surviving are his sisters, Lucille (Robert) Geisler of South Bend, Joyce (George) Lanning of Mishawaka, and Jane (Joseph) Mollo of Elkhart, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and his brother-in-law Roderick MacLean of Mishawaka. Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Gail MacLean.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will follow in the Garden of Devotion, on the grounds of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
