James G. Philpot, 47, of Elkhart, died Monday January 30, 2012. The Ft. Thomas, KY native was a US Army veteran and spent the past 20 years employed in the RV industry. Jim was a car and Harley motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed attending car shows and special events. Dedicated to his grandchildren, Jim was excited about the pending arrival of his next grandchild. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Philpot; daughter, Amanda (Timothy) Calverd of Elkhart, son, James G. Philpot, Jr. of Mishawaka, daughter, Jamie Rayborn of King''s Mountain, KY; five grandchildren including Peyton and Wyatt Calverd; his father and step-mother, Leland and Carol Philpot of Crab Orchard, KY; mother, Jewell Haley of Louisville; his brothers, Rick (Pastora) Philpot of Elkhart and Lee Philpot of Lexington; sisters, Rita (John) Thompson of San Antonio, TX and Karen (Donny) Sauder of Mt. Vernon, KY. Funeral Services 2:00 Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Friends may call Friday 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home.
