James H. Royal, 76, of Elkhart, passed away at 4:18 pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2010 in Elkhart General Hospital. James was born on September 15, 1933 to Ollie and Lillie (Davis) Royal. On August 1, 1956, he married Lucy Moore.
He is survived by seven children, Beverly Ellison of Elkhart, Kim (Jean) Royal of Elkhart, Henry Royal of Elkhart, Anthony Royal of Elkhart, John (Tabitha) Royal of Wabash, IN, Jeannette Newton of Mishawaka and Paulette Chandler of Elkhart; also survived are 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a brother, Booker T. (Rachel) Royal of Hayti, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 28, 2010 in Pilgrim Rest Missionary Church, 802 West Garfield Ave, Elkhart, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
