Pastor James Joseph Young, D.D., 74, of Elkhart was welcomed home into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Pastor Jim was born on August 31, 1938 in Bakersfield, MO to the late Clyde and Opal (Gillette) Young. On September 18, 1981, he married Jeanne L. Franks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jeanne of Elkhart; five children, Cindy (Marty) Smith of Colorado, Kevin (Wendy) Young of Colorado, James A. Young of Colorado, Stephen (Linda) Franks of Goshen and Gregory Franks of Bristol; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Lyn (Jim) Sellers of Arizona, one step brother, two step sisters and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tim Franks, grandson, Justin Chrisman, sister, Luci Kulin and brother, Neil Young.

Jim was Pastor of Word of Life Fellowship, Inc., Elkhart for the past 12 years. He was a retired semi truck driver and was an accomplished musician and song writer. He truly loved to study God''s word and led his life after his teachings.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, November 9, 2012 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 10, 2012 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Edwardsburg Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Lacefield will officiate.
