Janet Marie White, 76, of Mishawaka, passed away at 9:15 am, Monday, June 9, 2014 in her home surrounded by family. Janet was born on August 14, 1937, in Mishawaka, the daughter of the late Walter A. and Madeline (Straub) Stiebritz. On March 16, 1957 in Mishawaka, she married Donald J. White, who passed away on September 5, 1997. Janet is survived by three children, Donald J. (Lori) White, Jr., of Mishawaka, Craig A. (Diane) White of Elkhart and Michele (William) Schisler of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Heather White, Stephanie Williams, Caitlin White, and Stacy White and two great grandchildren, Connor and Chloe. She is also survived by two sisters, Sue (Grover) Walker of Bean Station, TN and Muriel Gordy of Osceola and one brother, Walter (Cindee) Stiebritz of Palm Beach, FL. Janet is a lifelong area resident, graduating from Mishawaka High School. She was a member of Willow Creek United Methodist Church and FCRV. She will be remembered for her love of camping and was also a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 pm, Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Robert Vale officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
