Elkhart – Jeanette E. Moore passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020. She was born March 15, 1931 in Elkhart to the late Clifford Benton and Helen Marie (Davis) Moore. Jeanette married Robert L. Moore on June 8, 1980 and he passed away January 20, 2004.
Survivors include 2 sons, Steven L. (Melissa) DeFord of Indiana, and Mark B. (Tina DeFord of Pennsylvania; 1 daughter, Laura F. (Kevin) Koon of Elkhart. A son, Dean R. (Theresa) DeFord preceded Jeanette in death. Also surviving is 1 sister, Beulah M. Stewart of Elkhart. Jeanette's brother, Jack B. Moore preceded Jeanette in death, surviving is his wife, Marilyn of Indiana. Surviving are 2 step sons, Monty K. Moore of Florida and Ronald (Carol) Moore of Elkhart. Robert Moore of Texas preceded Jeanette in death. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jennifer (DeFord) Franks, Eric Stanton, Emalee Stanton, Ryan DeFord, Brandii (Levi) Wilson, Mark DeFord, Michael DeFord, Russell DeFord, Haley DeFord; great-grandchildren, Jackson Fleming, Emerson Spano, Aurora DeFord, Gage Franks, Bailey Franks, Libby Wilson, and Paige Wilson; nephews, Mike Stewart, Al Stewart, Scott Moore, and Tom Moore; nieces, Kay Komins, and Ann Smith.
Jeanette retired from Bayer in 1987. She graduated in 1949 from Jimtown, High School. Jeanette loved spending time with her children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping with her sister, and going every summer to Shipshewana to the flea market with family. She loved yard work and planting flowers. She loved to go to Cubs games and was a member of the Moose. She loved spending time with her friends as well.
There will be no visitation or funeral service as to Jeannette's request. Cremation will take place with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. CHAPEL HILL FUNERAL HOME 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola is assisting the family with arrangements.
