A tribute from Janine Ramsey:
Jeannette Ramsey''s life has come full circle on March 28, 2015. Mom''s life began in Rochester MN on July 12, 1920 as Jeannette Bernice Teske coming from a family of German immigrants. Jeannette was taught that hard work was a life''s accomplishment. The daughter of Kate & Henry Teske, Mom had six siblings. Marvin Teske (Emmie) is her remaining brother and a dear sister-in-law, Helen Teske. Brothers passed are Lester, Lawrence (Helen) and sisters, Betty, Delores (Victor) and Donna (Allen). After graduating from Rochester High School, and worked at the age of 16 at St. Mary''s Hospital, Mom ventured out to Milwaukee with friends to find work. This is where Jeannette met her husband of 59 years, Merrill who passed away August 6, 2002. Jeannette and Merrill raised their 2 children in South Bend. Her first child, James and later having her daughter, Janine. Child raising happened many evenings at the dining room table with Janine. Helping Janine with math, story problems and flash cards. Mom spent time writing letters to her son while he was serving in the military, especially in Viet Nam. Mom taught Sunday school and worked full time at Newman''s Pharmacy for 23 years. As her children grew up, her interests became her grandchildren, Eric, Danielle and Aaron. Grandma spent time running the kids to hockey, swimming and cheering them on at meets and games. Grandma supported their interest by helping them to purchase hockey gear and buying fund raiser tickets. Grandma enjoyed having her grandkids visit, wanting to stay just a little longer, when a phone call was made, asking if they were ready to come home. Grandma wasn''t a pushover, remembering when Danielle snuck off with her friend, only to have Grandma find her and chewing her out all the way back to the house. Grandma could always come up with things to do. Aaron was bored one afternoon when Grandma had an idea to come up with a puppet show. The puppet show was taped and after a good laugh we still watched it when we''re bored. Mom spent many summers on Little Turtle Lake in Minnesota. Mom enjoyed fishing with her grandson Eric, while watching the eagles on the lake raise their young. Grandma didn''t have the mobility later in life to visit Minnesota and her great grandchildren, so she expressed her love to them by sending cards and letters of encouragement. Mom cherished her nieces & nephews, sending cards and making phone calls to just check in on them. Her faith was important spending time volunteering her services at St. Andrew''s U.C.C. in Mishawaka. Left to cherish are James Ramsey, her daughter in law Carol, their children, Eric (Rowena) Danielle (Edward) and Aaron (Jenny). Grandchildren Breah, Curtis and Xzavier, Ivan and Rowell. Great-great-grandchildren, Miakoda, Zakhi and her new baby soon to be born. Also to cherish is her daughter Janine and Janine''s partner, Di. God Bless you Mom, Grandma we will surely miss your love, we will see you again.
