South Bend, IN- Jesse Allen Jr. passed away peacefully on December 17, 2018 at Center for Hospice Care in South Bend. He was born August 6, 1933 in Llano, Texas to the late Jesse and Angie Allen.  Jesse was inducted into the United States Air Force on September 25, 1951 and was honorably discharged on May 12, 1955. On August 4, 1956 Jesse married Betty. This happy union was blessed with 3 children. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the VFW post 624 and Teamster Union. Jesse had a special love for his dogs.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Allen of South Bend; daughter, Patty Burns of Mishawaka, IN; sons, Jesse (Ramona) Allen of Las Vegas, NV and Terry (Judy) Allen of Mishawaka, IN; grandchildren, Heather, Mikel, Jr., Crystal, and Tracy; brothers, Tim (Nancy) Bess of Arkansas and Gerald (Ginnie) Allen of Texas; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loretta Railing and brother, David Bess.

A gathering for family and friends will be on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN and funeral will follow. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
