Jesse R. May, 68 of Elkhart, died on Monday, September 3, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.  He was born in Carrolton County, Kentucky on November 15, 1949 to Jesse W. and Eliza "Blanche" (Justice) May.  Jesse served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1967-1973.   On February 28, 1973, Jesse married Loretta Bennett and she survives.  He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and carpentry work.  Jesse "could build anything".  Jesse is survived by his wife of 45 years, Loretta; his children, Mary Catherine May, Crystal Dawn (James) Miller, Jesse John May, and Tammy Ray May; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Gwenda Grant, James (Wendy) May, and Steven May.  A funeral service in Jesse's honor will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 2 PM in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561 with calling one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
