Jimmie Lee Brawley, 68, of Osceola, passed away at 5:50 pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in Hospice House of South Bend. Jimmie was born on January 4, 1943 in Wiseman, Ark, the son of the late Spelman P. and Tressie (Southard) Brawley. On February 10, 1967, he married JoAnn Wentz.
He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn of Osceola, two children, Jennifer (Matthew) Leyes of South Bend and Kenneth Brawley of Osceola and a grandson, Joseph Leyes. He is also survived by sisters, Florence (Arnold) Livermore of South Bend and Hilda Brawley, of Elkhart, sister in law, Kay Brawley of Gardenia, CA and a brother, William "Bill" (Penny) Brawley of Granger. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Spelman Brawley, Jr.
Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He belonged to the N.R.A.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, May 6, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, with two hours of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
