Joan M. Oswald, age 81, went home to be with Jesus December 7th, 2015. She was born on July 12, 1934 to Edward and Wand Golubski in Mishawaka, Indiana. In 1968, Joan married Bruce Oswald. Mrs. Oswald was a High School graduate and went on to serve as a foster grandparent. Joan received the President''s Call to Service Award for her dedication to the Foster Grandparent program. She is survived by a son, Mark Oswald of Michigan City; niece, Rachelle Black of Mishawaka; sister-in-law, Pat (Paul) Mark of Mishawaka; and a son united through Christ Jesus, Kevin Boyle. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son, Jeffrey Oswald. A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Oswald''s honor on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with Rev. Larry Sonnerburg officiating. Family and friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
