Joan Maxine Zillmer, 82, of Osceola passed away at 8:40 am, Thursday, February 27, 2014 after a long illness. Joan was born on March 10, 1931, the daughter of the late Phillip and Fern (Herrold) LaVoie. Joan was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 308 of Osceola, a member of the VFW Auxiliary #8972. She was a member of the Clark Memorial Church of Elkhart. Joan enjoyed horseback and trail riding for thirty years while living at the foot of the Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction, Az. She loved animals her whole life She is survived by one son, Daniel P. Hull of Griffith, IN; sisters, Phyllis Norris of Osceola and Connie (Charles) Gilmore of Eureka, KS, brother Robert (Janet) LaVoie of Jacksonville, FL, one grandson and one great granddaughter. She is also survived by her niece, Starr Gordon of Ft. Myers, FL and four great nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Monday, March 3, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the funeral home with Rev. Mardell Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
