Middlebury-Joan Byers 85 passed away at Millers Mary Manor Friday evening in LaGrange. Mary was born to Harold and June Richards in Chicago. She married Marvin Peterson and together they would have two children, he preceded her in death in 1978. Joan later met Carl Byers through the Penny Saver Ads and together they would make quite a love story. Joan and Carl traveled all over the states and abroad. They enjoyed dancing in ballrooms every chance they got. Joan worked in a manufacturing factory where she did clerical duties for many years. She used to help Carl garden and she enjoyed her little Shihtzu dog "Susie". Joan''s greatest love of all was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by Spouse Carl, son Mark (Sue) Peterson, daughter Carla (Nils) Lamberson two grandsons Matthew Peterson and Bobby Dixon she was preceded in death by a son Peter Peterson. There will be a gathering of friends and family Wednesday from 6:00pm-7:00pm April 20, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Highway Osceola, IN 46561 there are no other services planned at this time
