Joanne Eichhorn, 70, of Sturgis, MI, passed away on Sunday Dec. 11, 2022 in Mishawaka.  She was born on Nov. 14, 1952 in Providence, RI to Neal K. And Doris (Switzer) Olsen.  She married Mark Eichhorn on Sept. 8, 2001.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; her children: Ryan (Brooke) Flowers, April (Scott) Stuart and Neal Eakins; a grandson, Preston Stuart; her step-children: Harold (Jessica) Eichhorn and Kim (Rusty) Lowery; 4 step-grandchildren; her step-mother, Ruth Olsen; her brothers: Ronald (Sandy) Olsen and Richard (Vicky) Olsen; and her step-sisters: Joan Reno, Peggy Nelson and Helen Kunze.

Joanne was preceded in death by her previous husband, Walter Eakins; her father and mother; and a brother, David.

Joanne graduated from Mishawaka High School. She was most recently employed by the Elkhart Council on Aging and was formerly employed at Marian High School.  She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society.   She volunteered for various church activities and events.  She coordinated the 100 Year Anniversary Celebration for the church.  She was the treasurer of TBPOA.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday Dec. 15, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.  A Rosary will be at 5:30 PM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Friday Dec. 16, 2022 at St. Monica Catholic Church 222 W. Mishawaka Ave. Mishawaka, IN 46545.  Fr. Jason Freiburger will officiate.  Burial will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Monica Catholic Church.
