Joe Poston, 79, of South Bend, died at home on Sunday morning, May 14, 2017. He was born in Cookeville, Tenn. on February 4, 1938 and was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam era and was a member of the VFW. Joe retired from Bendix after 30+ years with the company; he always enjoyed flowers, nature and the outdoors, and caring for his dog, Coco. Joe is survived by his friend and companion, Barbara A. Lydeen of South Bend and her son, John (Elaine) Lydeen of Mishawaka. Also surviving are Joe's brothers & sisters including Consuilla Page in Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his mother & step-father, Ada & Haron Woolbright. Funeral services 2:00 Thursday May 18, 2017 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. with calling from 1-2pm.
