Joe D. Ruble, 78, of Mishawaka, died on June 9, 2018.  He was born on July 2, 1939 to Charles and Sammie D. (Tucker) Ruble in Troy, Tennessee.  He graduated from High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army.  On July 4, 1960, Joe married Sandra Peterson and she survives.  He attended the Church of Christ in South Bend and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  He served as Union Steward for IBEW for over 20 years.  Joe enjoyed playing solitaire, working crossword puzzles, listening to Country Music, and watching sports-especially Tiger Woods.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  Everyone that met Joe loved him and he didn't know a stranger.  "Papa Joe" will be remembered always and missed by those he met.  Joe is survived by the love of his life of 57 years, Sandy; his children, Brian (Denise) Ruble and Kimberly Ruble both of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  Friends and family will be received on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 12-2 PM with a funeral service in Joe's honor beginning at 2 PM.  Burial will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
