John Henry Boyer went home to be with the Lord on January 3, 2014. He was born December 14, 1925 in Springfield, IL and grew up around Hannibal, MO, before moving to Elkhart, IN where he made his home. He retired from CTS after 38 years and was an active member of Beulah Missionary Church. He loved his family and church, commenting how blessed he was to have been a part of a loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Otis L. Boyer and Effie C. Boyer (ne Stringer); his brothers Melvin, Harold, and Ralph Boyer; and his sister Helen Geiger (ne Boyer). He is survived by his wife of 59 years Joyce Boyer; his sister Lily York (ne Boyer); his daughters Debra O''Laughlin and Valerie Rummel (ne Boyer); his grandchildren Michael Muhme, Jason Muhme, and Meghan Hastings; and his great-grandchildren Simone and River Muhme. Visitation will be held from 1-3pm Friday, January 17, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. with a graveside service to follow.
