John H. Bryant, 79, of Elkhart, passed away Friday November 29, 2019 in Elkhart General Hospital. John was born in Gloster, MS on February 26, 1940 to Smiley & Willie Mae (Cain) Bryant. He retired from Elkhart Foundry in 1999 and enjoyed spending time with family & friends, driving, fishing, bowling, watching TV and trying his luck with an occasional visit to the casino.  He was also an avid NFL fan who followed the Indianapolis Colts. John was preceded in death by his wife Linda (Hamilton) Bryant on November 29, 2016 and his son, John A. Bryant, Sr. on January 5, 2002. John was also preceded by his brothers, Smiley Bryant Jr. & Jerry Bryant and sisters, Elnora Redmond, Mamie Bates & Faye Bryant. Left to cherish John's memory are his sisters, Rose Kerry and Julia (William) Woods, both of Elkhart; his grandchildren, Alexus Bryant of Middlebury, John A. Bryant, Jr. of Elkhart, Dominique Bryant in Texas, Kayla Andrews in Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 1-2pm in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Graveside Service follows at 2:00pm in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
