John A. Carter, 76, of South Bend, IN passed away on Wednesday July 19, 2023, at Trailpoint Village in South Bend.  He was born on September 10, 1946 in Mishawaka, IN to Pinkney and Clara (Stoner) Carter.

John is survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Michael and Patrick Carter; and a sister, Crystal Krizman.

He retired in 2005 from Mishawaka High School, where he was a custodian.

John was a talented musician.  He also played his guitar and harmonica at Queen Of Peace for Mass.

He had a lot of lady friends at Trailpoint, he was a charmer. Everyone who met him was truly blessed to get to know John.

A Prayer Service in John's honor will be at 11 AM Thursday July 27, 2023 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.  Deacon Bob Byrne will officiate.  Burial will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
