John Patrick Corban

August 24, 1945 – March 12, 2024

John Patrick Corban of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

He is survived by his wife Karen Corban; sons Jeffery (Kathleen) Corban and Matthew (Stephanie) Corban; sister Patricia (Pat) Hanlon; sister-in-law Teresa Corban; grandchildren Austin, Morgan, Caiden and Kailey; along with uncles and several cousins and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents John & Lorraine (Frankenberger) Corban; a daughter Melissa Corban; and brothers Michael (Rejona) Corban, Thomas (Louise) Corban and James Corban.

John was an avid train collector and enthusiast. He collected and restored cars and had a true love for Studebakers. He spent his retirement going to breakfast and lunch with grandkids, friends and family at local restaurants. John retired from St. Joseph Medical Center.  He was a skilled handyman. His children did not know that you called a repairman to fix things because he knew how to fix everything. He was always the first person to reach out to help others and he taught his children the importance of doing a job right the first time.  Above all, he loved his precious family dearly.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday March 20, 2024 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, located at 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 6:30 pm.
