Osceola, IN — John Lee Davis, 72, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.

John was born on July 2, 1953, in Peru, Indiana, to the late John and Dorothy (Han) Davis. He was a proud graduate of Merrillville High School, Class of 1972, and went on to earn his degree from Indiana University Bloomington in 1976.

On April 25, 1986, John married the love of his life, Joni Thompson, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Together they shared a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and deep family bonds.

A faithful follower of the Catholic faith, John lived his life guided by strong values and quiet generosity. He had a deep love for history, enjoyed making music—especially playing his guitar—and was a devoted fan of Notre Dame hockey and Indiana University Bloomington basketball. John spent his career as a skilled tool and die maker, a trade he took great pride in.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joni Davis; his daughter, Katie Davis; and several cousins who held him dear.
In accordance with John's wishes, a private Celebration of Life service will be announced by the family.
