John J. Hatton, 77, of Mishawaka, IN passed away on Sept. 11, 2023.  He was born on June 25, 1946 in Huntington, IN to Robert and Betty (Drudge) Hatton.

John graduated from Mishawaka High School and IUSB.  He served his country honorably in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corp.

He was a lifetime member of the Marine Corp League in South Bend and DeAmici's Italian Club.  He was a broker for shipping containers, as well as the former owner of "The Stag" Card House.  He enjoyed playing blackjack and craps at the casino.  John was also a connoisseur of many late night parlor games with his friends at DeAmici's.  John was a grumpy but lovable gentleman who will be missed for his sense of humor and his wit.

John was preceded in death by his son, Christopher.

He is survived by his cat, Morgan.

A funeral service in his honor will be on Friday Sept. 29, 2023 at Noon at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph County Humane Society.
