John Roy Heltzel, 79, of South Bend, passed away at 12:01 am, Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Memorial Hospital. John was born on January 5, 1931 in Bremen, IN to the late Calvin and Pearl (Ruff) Heltzel.
John is survived by three children, Helen Weaver of Austin, TX, Barb (Tim) Kobb of Mishawaka, and John (Denise) Heltzel, Jr. of South Bend; four grandchildren, Tim Kobb, Jr., Betsy Long, Kristy Cleveland, and Tina Roempagel; and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Carl Heltzel of Toledo, OH and Calvin (Fern) Heltzel, Jr. of Auburndale, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert and two sisters, Pat Cochran and Joann Weber.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Monday, November 1, 2010 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Due to John''s wishes, there will be no service. Entombment will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
