John Robert Hooten, age 44, of Osceola passed away on January 15, 2016 at 9:08 AM in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was born April 25, 1971 to Lewis and Edna (Brassfield) Hooten in Niles, Michigan. Mr. Hooten was a machinist in the automotive industry. John enjoyed music, movies, animals, and was loved by his family. John is survived by his fianc, Shelley Heighway of Osceola; his children, Derek Hooten of South Bend, IN, April Hooten, and John Hooten Jr. both of Mishawaka, IN; his fiancs children, Stacey Winn and Sam Winn both of Osceola; 9 grandchildren; his siblings, Bill (Grace) Avara of Elkhart, IN, Vanessia Wilson and Jeff Avara (Linda Cole) both of Mishawaka, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James Avara. A funeral service in Mr. Hooten''s honor will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561 with calling one hour prior to the service.
