Obituary

John T. Kedik passed away on December 1, 2025, in his residence. Born on February 3, 1949, in South Bend, IN, John was the son of the late John L. and Lillian (Hernitz) Kedik.

John was a 1968 graduate of Mishawaka High School. After graduation he attended Purdue University and later served in the United States Army from 1969-1971.

Throughout his life, John cultivated a variety of hobbies that brought him joy and camaraderie. In earlier years, John enjoyed playing pool and participating in local Billard clubs. He was an avid White Sox fan, always listening to the games and keeping his own stats. He was known to spend time at the laundromat playing pinball, an activity he loved. John appreciated books, comics, and albums.He loved playing Risk, Chess and Skip-Bo and enjoyed every time he won a game against his sisters. One of his favorite past-times was traveling to different gas stations to purchase lottery tickets, always hopeful and entertained by the ritual.

John is survived by his sisters, Susan (Paul) Rambow-Petgen; Jane (Larry) Matz; Lynne (Joe) Ness, along with seven nieces and nephews, and their children.

Per his wishes, no services are scheduled. Cremation will take place, and his cremains will be placed with his parents at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.

John will be remembered for his gently spirit, quiet humor, and the simple joys he found in everyday life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
