John H. Koontz, 66 of Middlebury, died on March 18, 2019 at home.  He was born on March 22, 1952 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Robert M. and Anna L. (Shorey) Koontz.  He was a graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy.  He worked as a welder for many years.  John enjoyed painting and reading.  He is survived by his daughter, Misty and family; siblings, Bob, Jerry, Carol, Lynda, and Diane; and several nieces and nephews.  In accordance with John's wishes, no services are planned at this time.  Entombment will take place at a later date.  To leave an online condolence or sign the guest book, please visit www.chapelhillmemorial.com.
