John W. Prugh, age 95 of Elkhart, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. John was born September 21, 1914 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Fred and Martha (Davenport) Prugh. On July 20, 1940, John married his wife, Mary, in Elkhart, Indiana. She preceded him in death, passing away in November of 1998.
John is survived by his children Wes (Denene) Prugh of Valparaiso, Indiana, Larry (Dot) Prugh of Elkhart, Phyllis Dygert of Elkhart, Pat Replogle of Elkhart, and Marsha (Fred) Holtz of Sutton Bay, Michigan. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or services. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
John was a graduate of Elkhart High School, class of 1934. He was employed by the New York Central Railroad for 38 years, retiring in 1978. John attended Trinity United Methodist Church for many years. He was also a member of Tyrian Lodge #718 in Elkhart, and the South Bend Valley Scottish Rite. In his spare time, John enjoyed fishing and spending time on Simonton Lake with his family and friends.
