Johnny E. Woods, 87, of Elkhart, IN, passed away on Friday December 29, 2023.  He was born on February 2, 1936 in Toombs County, Georgia to Jessie Frances and Nita Renta (Love) Woods.  He married Hallie Henderson.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 66 years, Hallie; his son, Ron (Joan) Woods; his daughter, Sherry Woods; grandchildren: Tracy Dean, Kristy Dean, Aireal Woods and Aaron Woods; 2 step-grandchildren, Tanner and Tiffany; as well as 7 great-grandchildren: Chandler, Kylan, Braden, Peyton, Neveah, Abel and Lindsey.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Kayden and a great-granddaughter, Kimberly Tyler.

Johnny served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and, later, the Air Force Reserves.  He retired from Foamex. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Elkhart.  He was an Elder at Sun City Baptist Church in Florida.  He was also on the Sun City Center Emergency Squad.

A Funeral Service in his honor will be at 11 AM Friday January 5, 2023 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 120776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.
