Johnson M. Kagondu, 57, of Indianapolis, died suddenly Monday, January 14, 2013 in Indianapolis. Johnson was born on August 15, 1955 in Kagunduini, Kandara, Kenya. He was a teacher in Kenya for many years before he relocated to the USA and changed his career into nursing. He obtained his nursing license from Ivy Tech. He also attended IUSB and completed some political science classes to boost his political asperations. He was a nurse in Elkhart, Goshen and Indianapolis. Helping others enriched his life.
He is the son of the late Paul Gitau and Virginia Njeri. He is survived by Sarah Kagondu, his beloved children, Lemmy Kagondu and Faith Kagondu of Elkhart and Jimmy Kagondu of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Jane, Damaris, Martha, Wambui, Kinuthia, Irene, Lucy, Njiri, and Sophia and the late Joyce and Peter. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm, Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, February 1, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
