Jose Alfredo Ramos, 61, of South Bend, died Tuesday September 26, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Alfredo was born in Weslaco TX on January 26, 1956, to Jose Celinio Ramos & Juanita (Garza) Ramos. A welder by trade, he was employed at Manchester Tank in Elkhart and later worked in maintenance for Madison Center and other facilities. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, bargain hunting and spending time with his grandchildren, especially bike riding with them. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Zepp) Ramos and his brother, Junior Ramos. He is survived by his daughters, Angela Ramos and Janie (Tracy) Plump, both of South Bend; his brothers, Jose Arturo F. (Hermina) Ramos, Jose Enrique (Rosa) Ramos, Joe Frank Ramos and Jesus "Chuey" (Norma) Ramos, all in Texas; sisters, Maria Alicia Ramos of South Bend and Diana R. Ramos, Martha S. (Deacon Oscar) Garcia & Jeannie C. (Jerry) Scheets, all in Texas; grandchildren, Elizabeth Garcia Ramos, Aleeyah Ramos, Tracy Plump, Viviana Ramos and Navid Ramos, all of South Bend and his great-grandchildren, Felisha and Ariella Espinoza. Services will be held at 5:00pm Tuesday October 3, 2017 in the Chapel at Highland Cemetery, 2257 Portage Avenue, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 4-5pm in the chapel.
