"Tom" Summers 79, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away on February 04, 2024. He is survived by his wife Peggy (Brown) Summers; son Joey (Melanie) Summers; daughter Michelle (Kurt) Zufan; brother Bill Summers of West Virginia; sister Janice Armstrong of West Virginia; grandchildren Tyler (Caroline) Zufan, Kara Summers (Cody Simington), Trey (Nicole) Zufan, Kaleb (Keira) Summers; and great-grandchildren Caden Zufan, Emmalyn Zufan, Nichole Summers, Nyla Summers, Mackenzie Zufan, Sutton Summers, Navie Summers, and Aspyn Summers.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell Summers and Loraine McQuillen.
Tom graduated from Eastbank High School in 1962 and married his loving wife Peggy Jean Brown on October 04, 1969. He proudly served our country in the United States Airforce as an Air Police Officer. He enjoyed golf, camping with his family and fishing. He was a West Virginia College football fan and would strike up a conversation with anyone, never knowing a stranger. He was happy to share stories of "growing up in the hollers" of Cabin Creek West Virginia. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working with the flowers at his home and gardening. He loved Jesus and his church. He would make handmade canes out of tree limbs for those he loved and he took up quilting, making handmade quilts for his all of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and dear friends. Most of all he loved his dear family.
Visitation for Tom will be held on Friday, February 09, 2024 from11:00 am until 1:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana.
