Josephine Elkins, 85, of Elkhart, passed away at 3:19 pm, Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Josephine was born on February 26, 1926 in Confluence, PA.
She is survived by four children, Greg (Jo) Elkins, of Mayer, AZ, Barry (Norma Jyn) Elkins of Osceola, Paula (Raleigh) Sjogren, of Marion, AR and Brett (Elizabeth) Elkins of Elkhart, 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 37 years, Leonard Elkins, son, Timothy Lee Elkins, two sisters, Lois Ward and Jenny Mosley and three brothers, Darwin, James and Joseph, Jr.
Josephine worked for Monaco Coach, Corp. of Elkhart for many years, and then has worked for Penguin Point until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Elkhart and recently of Gateway Baptist Church, Humbolt, AZ. She loved her family and will be remembered for her love of cooking, traveling, shopping and word searches.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, October, 3, 2011 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Dr. Daniel Gelatt will officiate. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
