Josephine (Dickmann) Menting, 91 of South Bend passed away at 12:15 p.m. Monday, September 4, 2023 in Southfield Village Nursing Home.

Josephine was born on March 9, 1932 in Hengelo, the Netherlands.  She married William (Bill) Menting on October 23, 1952.  The couple immigrated to the U.S. and began their lives as proud dairy farmers.  Josephine obtained her QMA certification and worked at the Convent of the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross, St. Paul Retirement Community, and at Portage Manor.

Josephine is survived by three daughters, Teresa (Robert) Paton, Bernadette (Ron) Rodriguez, and Rosemary (Tony) Acito, all of South Bend; four sons Gerald (Carolyn) Menting of Lakeville, and Alphonse (Bonni) Menting, Joseph Menting and Paul (Rhonda) Menting of South Bend; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill, daughter Margaret and daughter-in-law Kathleen (Joseph Menting).

Friends may visit with the family Thursday September 14, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, Indiana.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 starting at 11:00 am at St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend, Indiana.
