Josephine Ann Ulrey, 74, of Edwardsburg, MI, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday March 13, 2022 in Niles with her loving family.  She was born on September 27, 1947 in Niles, MI to Levi H. and Virginina May (Curtner) Strickland.  She married Ronald Ulery on January 1, 1980.  He passed away in July of 2006.

Josephine is survived by her daughter-nieces, Melissa (Bob) Adams and Corrie (Carl) Humphrey, as well as her other nieces and nephews: Dorothy, Diane, Crystal, David, Levi, Scott, Stacey and Faith; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is a brother, Frank (Sharon) Strickland, and two sisters, Montene Doehrer and Retha (Jack) Tesch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother, Bill, and a sister, Sarah, as well as her twin sister, Joyce.

Josephine was a member of the Westside Worship Center in Elkhart and a Lifetime Member of D.A.V. Post #19 in Elkhart.

She loved camping, taking at family photos and travelling.   She took trips to Germany and, on a trip to Disney World, made a lifelong friend.  She collected angels and other religious memorabilia. Her nieces and nephews will cherish the times they got to spend the night with Grandma Jo, who always had a way of making them feel special.

A Celebration of Life will take place this summer.
