Joyce D. Geary, 85, of Elkhart, died Wednesday June 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Medical Center. The Cass County, Michigan native was born July 20, 1932, the daughter of Lowell & Bessie (McCaulley) Hofmeister. Joyce was a military wife for many years; in her younger years, she was considered by many to be very attractive and was often referred to as "resembling a movie star". Joyce enjoyed arts & crafts and liked to sew. She was known for her beautiful wedding bouquets and wonderful handmade holiday & birthday gifts. In addition to her parents, Joyce was also preceded in death by her son, Bruce Geary and her sister, Lowellen Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Leach and Shelly Goodenough, both of Elkhart, Rita (Bob) Parrish of Edwardsburg MI and Sheila Cloud of Niles MI; her brother, Larry (Paula) Hofmeister and sister, Geri (Gerry) Grahek, both in Michigan; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday June 23, 2018 from 10:00 – 12:00 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Cremation will take place afterwards with interment in Crane Cemetery, Volinia, Michigan at a later date.
