Joyce Irene Wait, age 77, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, passed away December 18, 2009 at Elkhart General Hospital. Joyce was born August 26, 1932 in Osceola, Indiana to the late George and Gladys Brooks. Joyce was united in marriage to Allen Wait in 1953.
Allen survives, along with their children, Shirley (Butch) Critzer of Berrien Springs, Michigan and Robert (Marsha) Wait of Mishawaka, Indiana. Also surviving is one step grandchild, and her siblings, Bud Brooks of South Bend, Mary Brooks of California, Patricia Simpson of Cass, Michigan, and Sandy Shaffer of Bristol. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty and Irene.
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the noon funeral service on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Joyce was employed by Whitehall industries for 39 years as a line operator and towmotor operator until her retirement in the mid 1980''s. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and visiting all 48 lower United States while delivering trailers for Classic Transport. She also enjoyed bowling and birdwatching.
In her memory, contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
