IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith Ann
Shields
March 11, 1953 – March 3, 2026
Judith Ann Shields, a woman known for her unending kindness, consoling wisdom, and selfless service, passed away on March 03, 2026, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on March 11, 1953 in Mishawaka, IN to Henry "Hank" Hembrecht and Claire (Ducheny) Hembrecht, Judy's life was full of love, laughter, and family.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and sister, Judy and her husband, Rodney (deceased) were married in 1972. The next year they welcomed the first of their three children (Rodney II). They welcomed their daughter (Randa) in 1976, and son (Ryan) in 1988. Judy took great pride in her service to others. Quick with a joke, anecdote, or analogy, her conversations will live on as some of the most endearing memories to those she shared words with. She was a beacon of light and a divine gift to the Earth.
Judy is survived by her children, Rodney W. (Stacy) Shields II, Randa (Kevin) Adams, and Ryan (Autumn) Shields; her siblings, Peggy (Sister Louise) Hembrecht, Thom (Ingrid) Hembrecht, Joanie (Judd) Mercurio, and Terry (Debbie) Hembrecht; and her six grandchildren, Robert, Jade, Emily, Sylvia, Andra, and Elizabeth; and her two great-grandchildren Gabriel, and Lillian. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister, Cathi Hembrecht.
Judy was an incredibly kind soul. She spoke with actions as well as her words. Judith worked many years as a medical transcriptionist beginning at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and sharing memories with those she loved. Her legacy is one of service, wisdom, and laughter. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
