Julianne K. Figg, 52, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  Julie was born on June 29, 1972, in South Bend to her loving father and the late Valerie J. (Keresztes) Manning.

Julie was an unapologetically passionate and relentlessly hardworking person. Born and raised in Northern-Indiana, she was a proud graduate of Mishawaka High School.  Her love for family and friends ran deep, and she worked diligently to instill strong values of compassion, humility, loyalty, empathy, and kindness in the many lives she touched.

Her adventurous spirit led her to find joy in both serene and adrenaline-fueld experiences, including:  geology, gardening, caring for animals – particulary dogs and cats, and thrilling experiences—such as enjoying roller coaster rides at Indiana Beach or zip-lining in Las Vegas.  Her love of plants and gardening brought her peace and satisfaction, always tending to the beauty of nature.

Julie was also an employee of Always Best Care – Michana, where she made a meaningful impact in the lives of others with her caring nature and dedication.

Julie is survived by her father, her daughter, Kaleigh Manning of Mishawaka; her son, Hunter Manning of Indianapolis; her sister, Mary (Dwayne) Barrett of Elkhart; her beloved grandchild, Izen Francis, as well as her nephew Taylor Custard of South Bend, and niece, Jessica Yoder of Union, Michigan.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandfather and grandmother, Bela and Mariska Keresztes, and her aunt, Mary (Mariska) Morris.

The family will receive friends at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 28th from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

The funeral service will immediately follow on Tuesday January 28th at 4:00 PM with Pastor Bob Vale officiating.
