Karen Barr, 53, of Granger, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 7:50 pm. Karen was born on November 23, 1956 in South Bend to the late William F., Jr. and Dorothy (Shewman) Albertson.
She is survived by a daughter, Kiley Sheehan of Mishawaka and two beloved grandchildren, Madison and Katelyn. She is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Albertson of Granger and Shirley Albertson of Mishawaka, a brother, William F. Albertson, III, her best friend, Jackie McKibbin of Prescott Valley, AZ, a niece, Shannon Albertson-Tavernier of Mishawaka and a nephew, John Smith of Granger.
Karen is a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Penn High School. She worked as a cashier in the Kroger Store # 23. She was an active member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Granger. She will be remembered for her love and dedication to her grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 pm, Friday, May 21, 2010 in Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 51521 Elm Road, Granger. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday in the church with Rev. Mike Butler officiating.
