Kay Young, 86, of Osceola, died at 3:30 am, Friday, December 19, 2014 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Kay was born on March 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Ollie and Pearl (Stucker) Thompson. Kay married Wayne Laughlin on October 11, 1945 and he died in November 1996. On March 22, 1969, she remarried Robert L. Young. He died on June 15, 2000. Kay is survived by two children; Dennis (Joan) Laughlin of Bolingbrook, IL and Pat (Don) Neuhaus Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Derek Hyatte, Jaime (Jeremy) Scranton, Michelle (Kevin) Archibald and Melissa Laughlin and two great grandchildren, Cathan and Olivia. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Gene Piechocki. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Mary North, William Thompson, Irvin Thompson, Paul Thompson, and Cecil Thompson. Kay was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. She also volunteered at the American Red Cross for many years. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm, Monday, December 22, 2014 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in First United Methodist Church, 201 East Third Street, Mishawaka, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
