Obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Irons, 80, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Kenny was born on September 6, 1945, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late George Thomas and Goldie Isabelle (Naragon) Irons. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjorie (Weimuth) Irons; his brother, Keith Irons; his niece, Evonne (Irons) Stemm; his son, Michael McCarty; and his infant brother, Walter Leroy Irons. 

Kenny will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Amy Pfifferling-Irons (Sunny); his sons, Kevin (Donna) McCarty and Brian McCarty; his cherished grandchildren, London Pfifferling-Irons, Kristin Anderson (David), and Jessica Lambright (Mark); his great-grandchildren, Tysen McCarty, Dallas Yoder, and Spencer and Graesin Lambright; and his great-great-grandchild, Levi. He is also survived by his devoted companion, Jackie Brown, and her family, Michele Ash, Christina Butler (Andre) and Donovin Butler. Kenny also leaves behind his beloved cats, Missy and Lucy, who brought him great comfort and companionship. 

Kenny was known for his kind heart, easygoing nature and love for family and friends. He had a lifelong passion for classic cars and antique tractors and enjoyed spending time fishing whenever he could. Whether attending car shows, tinkering with engines or sharing stories with friends, Kenny found joy in the simple things and in the people he loved most.

Above all, Kenny will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, companion and loyal friend whose warmth, humor and generous spirit touched many lives. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him. 

Family and friends will be received at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, Indiana, on Friday, June 12 from 3-7pm.
