Kenneth Eugene Nissley, of Elkhart, was born on May 26, 1962, and passed peacefully at home on October 31, 2026, after bravely fighting cancer for two years. Though his journey was difficult, Ken faced each day with courage, faith, and a quiet determination that inspired everyone around him. We take comfort in knowing he is now enjoying the fullness of heaven.
Ken graduated from Concord High School in 1983. On July 14, 1984, he married Teresa Caryl Slack at Northside Baptist Church, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with devotion, laughter, and shared purpose. Together they built a home rooted in love, faith, and family.
Throughout his life, Ken worked several jobs in the RV industry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. When he lost his job during the recession, he embraced a new calling as a full‑time caregiver for his granddaughters — a role he cherished deeply.
Throughout his cancer journey, he continued to encourage others with his funny sayings and his genuine interest in their lives, always choosing to lift others up even while facing his own challenges.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa; his daughter, Kimberly Memmot; his son, Timothy Nissley; and his four grandchildren — Elisabeth, Ella Mae, Maliki, and Hunter.
He is also survived by his mother, Mattie Nissley; brother, Bruce (Celina) Nissley; sister, Tracy Nissley; brother-in-law, Dave DeMeyer; and in-laws Romayne and Edna Slack.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Nissley; his sister, Cathy DeMeyer; and his brother‑in‑law, Cary Slack.
Services to honor Ken’s life will be held 12:00 PM, Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561, with visitation one hour prior. Memorial gifts may be made to Center for Hospice Care (cfhcare.org), whose care and compassion were a blessing to Ken and his family.
Ken will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, In the Building 2 Mausolem at a later date, Osceola, IN.
