Kevin Paul Pontius, age 48 of Bristol, passed away Fri. June 14, 2013 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, IN. Kevin was born in Elkhart on Nov. 23, 1964. On June 11, 1994, he married Charlene Whitaker in Elkhart.

Charlene survives, along with their daughter Dora S. Pontius and his siblings, Lester A. (Michelle) Pontius Jr. of Windfall, IN, Michelle Brewer of Oak Hills, VA, Renee Pontius of South Bend, and Duane (Angela) Pontius of Elkhart. Also surviving are his in-laws, Charlie and Juanita Whitaker of Bristol. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester A. Sr. and June R. Pontius.

A celebration of life will be held from 6-10 pm Friday, June 21, 2013 at McNaughton Park in Elkhart. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Kevin was self employed as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching NASCAR races, and fishing. He also served as a foster parent for several years and attended Calvary Baptist Church.

In his memory, donations may be made to the charity of the donor''s choice.
