Kristi Kay Neice, age 57, of Elkhart, passed away Wed. June 11, 2014 at Woodland Manor Nursing Home. Kristi was born March 18, 1957 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Floyd V. and Peggy J. (Hall) Campbell.
Survivors include her children, Joe (fiance, Elaine Henke) Neice of Goshen, and Staci (Gary) Oliva of Crown Point, Indiana. Surviving as well are her grandchildren, Connor and Brittlynn Oliva, and Addison Neice. Kristi is also survived by her sisters Karen Redman of Elkhart, and Cindy (Mike) Brown of Granger.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the 7:00 pm memorial service on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola.
Kristi went to College as an adult, and graduated with honors at the age of 39. She worked as a medical assistant in nephrology, before being diagnosed at the age of 46 with Alzheimer''s disease. As her disease progressed, she helped with custodial duties at New Hope United Methodist Church in Elkhart, of which she was a longtime member.
She was a kind hearted person, who loved her family immensely. She enjoyed walking daily, and helping children at an after school care program for many years. Kristi also loved music, played the piano, and wrote poetry.
Kristi''s family would like to thank the staff of Woodland Manor for their many years of dedication to Kris during her time with them. In her memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association.
