Lamar G. Wallin, age 86, of Elkhart, IN passed away on April 24 2016 at 12:01 AM at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart, IN. He was born November 17, 1929 to Roy G. and Gaynell (Salmon) Wallin in Chicago, IL. Lamar served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for Banner Homes as the plant manager before he co-founded and became President of Marathon Homes. He retired in 1996. Lamar also enjoyed deer hunting in Wyoming, bowling, golfing, and watching his grandchildren swim in the pool. Some of our favorite Lamar quotes will forever be; "You can''t hunt night crawlers at night, without a flashlight", "I just stopped by to say HowdyHowdy", "There''s a little soft shoe for ya", and "Awesome Bill from Dawsonville". Lamar''s dedication to his family, generous heart, sense of humor, and happy go lucky ways will be missed, but carried on through his loved ones.
