Lawrence E. Healy, 91, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN.

Larry was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on April 4th 1930. On May 19, 1951 he married the former Catherine VanderHeyden, who preceded him in death on December 24, 2012. Larry retired from Elkhart Community Schools where he had served as an Industrial Arts teacher. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War. In 1990, he and his wife Cathy moved to Silver Oaks Mobile Home Park in Sebring, Florida where they enjoyed their retirement years. While residing in Sebring, Larry worked at a local golf course where he was able to participate in his favorite activity, golfing.

In 2018, Larry moved to Cedarhurst (formerly Waterford) of Edison Lakes assisted living facility. Here he quickly became a beloved resident who was known for his acting skills in the facility's theatrical performances. He was known to have donned a wig now and then for the sake of the production.

Surviving are his children David Healy and his wife Galena of Tampa, Florida, Douglas Healy and his wife Becky of Mishawaka, Jeannine Healy of Friendswood, Texas, and Richard Healy and his wife Gayle of Milan, Indiana. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild; Jennifer, Courtney, Brooke, Alec, Payton, Jordan and Zeke. Along with his children and grandchildren Larry is survived by his cherished sister-in-law Marian Healy who was his loyal friend for much of his life along with her family. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife Catherine and his son Stephen R. Healy along with brother Richard Healy and sister Gertrude Raymond.

Visitation will be held from 12pm-2pm, Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola, IN. Interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
