Leola Mable Wagner, 89, of Mishawaka, passed away at 8:50 pm, Sunday, June 9, 2013 in Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Leola was born on September 16, 1923, the daughter of Henry and Nellie (Evans) Claypool in Flemingsburg, KY. As a child, she grew up in Georgetown, OH. On August 29, 1952, she married Wayne L. Wagner.
She is survived by loving husband of 60 years, Wayne; four children, Terry (Marylou) Wagner of Mishawaka, Debra (James) DeVreese of Mishawaka, Gary (Trudy) Wagner of South Bend and Donna Frazier of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by six siblings, Wilbert (Mary Rose) Claypool of Mishawaka, Ruby (Norville) Hardyman of Ripley, OH, Gene (Barbara) Claypool of Xenia, OH, Joyce (Raymond) BeCraft of Georgetown, OH, Carl Claypool of Hamersville, OH, and Wanda (Ronald) Griffith of Georgetown, OH, as well as a sister in law, Maudie Claypool of Hamersville, OH and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Billy and Charles Claypool, sister, Ethel Rice, brothers in law, Charles Rice and Joe Berreth, sister in law, Ruby (Wagner) Berreth, grandson, David Wagner and nephews, Tony BeCraft and Dennis Berreth.
Leola worked for Uniroyal as a seamstress for 15 years before she left for Gerber Manufacturing. There she worked as a seamstress until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of Northside Nazarene Church, Elkhart.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, June 13, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 14, 2013 in Northside Nazarene Church, 53569 County Road 7, Elkhart with one hour prior. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
