Leonard Alford, 94, of Mishawaka, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:50 AM.  He was born on April 20, 1923 to Albert and Marcie (Kizer) Alford in Mishawaka, IN.  On October 10, 1942, Leonard married his wife, Helen and served his country honorably from 1943-1945 in the United States Army.    He worked as a truck driver for a fuel company for many years before retiring in 1983.  Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in the great outdoors.  He is survived by his children, Jerry Batten, Marsha (Larry) Banks, both of Osceola, and James (Sandra) Alford of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond (Bertha) Alford of Tucson, AZ.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; and sisters, Luella Stephens, and Clara Mae Alford.  A funeral service in Leonard's honor will be on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 10 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN  46561 with calling one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Larry Sonnenberg will preside over the service with burial following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
